Sedation and Weaning in Children (SANDWICH)

PROJECT BRIEF

The main brief for this project was to provide an e-learning package that would positively influence critical practice and patient comfort during their admission to intensive care.

This education package introduces an intervention designed to address sedation assessment and management in the PICU, setting out clear criteria for a readiness to undergo a spontaneous breathing trial and provide a wardround discussion format that promotes a multidisciplinary approach to sedation and weaning within the PICU.
